Is it okay to wear shoes with suede on them in the end of August?

I want these gorgeous open toe shoes from the autumn/winter 2008 Valentino campaign for my wedding dress. The part that goes across the foot is jeweled and detailed but the part that goes around your heel and sides of your foot (sorry I don't know shoe terminology) is just suede. My wedding is August 25th in southern Italy. Is the suede inappropriate...like wearing white after labor day kinda thing??
