Executor of the estate question?

My grandparents died a while back and now its time to get the probate done and divide up the estate! I live in south carolina and the other day went to court and was in formed that my grand mother's will appointed an executor over the estate. No one in my family knows who this gentleman is. We just have a first and last name, no address, no phone number, no drivers liscence number, NOTHING!! maybe i am missing something but from what i get i can not settle the estate with out this guy or a death certifiicate saying he is dead. Any advice? I have searched him on google, yahoo, 411.com, asked neighbors, family, friends of the family, i even asked the preacher at my grand parent's church who it was. no leeds, i posted a looking for this person on craigslist, maybe that will turn up something but in the mean time i need a plan B
