How to get vw keys for a 1987?

I have a 1987 golf vw of america. My keys have been stolen twice so I no longer have any original keys. I have one copy, but I don't have any with the vw emblam anymore. I used to have the neatest laser cut vw keys. Vw says they cannot make me any because the car is too old. Is there any way to get vw trademark keys for this car? I know it probably sounds dumb, but I plan on refurbing it, and it would be nice to have actual vw keys. Any suggestions?
