Liberation?

People, groups, factions and so forth trying to manipulate the people into a manageable public, that's what's happening, that's what all the lies are about to some degree. People are easier to control when they're not asking questions and demanding answers. Blissfully ignorant and closed minded citizens are a god sent to any government.
