New laptop woes?

i bought a new laptop and now its giving me problems...the explorer.exe is giving me problems. my dektop goes blank of the icons and the taskbar for sometime and returns back. this repeats irritatingly. actually the explorer.exe process ends and restarts again and again. i saw this in the tasks panel by pressin crtl+alt+del. i cant open my computer i have to access anything on my pc using acdsee pls help. if formattin can help please tell me how to format and reinstall OS when i dont have any other OS installed.
