What equation involves in calculating energy conserve from water flow to rotor turbine?

My project would be to calculate the minimum flow which make a rotor turbine to spin. Thus i need to know what are the equations involve. I try study bernaulli but it's just state the thorem only apply to flow energy not mechanical especially rotational motion. Any guide? For information the rotor is axial type and consider an impulse turbine.
