Is it true that Obama is basically eliminating space exploration?

This is just something that a friend told me. I've never actually read or heard anything on tv about this. But if its true, why the hell would he do this??? That's almost putting a lid on new discoveries. I love to read about new space discoveries, so if this really is true then ill be pretty upset lol.
